The main instances of communications and transformations can be witnessed in Islamic cities, such as Mecca, Baghdad, Basra, Isfahan, Cordova, and Cairo during the eighth to tenth centuries A.D. when they were involved in major, and mostly, global processes. The Middle East, after a long period of decline, is now the arena of globalization, and its cities are entering into the process of globalization and are increasingly connecting to the network of global cities.The aim of the present study is to explain the range of globalization in the Middle Eastern mega cities, and the position of such cities in the network of global cities. This study was conducted through descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that although Islamic cities have been, for a long time, the main actors at global level, they were unable to play a significant role in the process of globalization due to lack of civil institutions, colonization and the rentier nature of most regional governments. However, today, some of these cities, due to their geographical position, and friendly approach to world economy and capital have been able to gain a good position in the network of global cities.  }, keywords = {Islamic city,Globalization,Middle East,global city}, title_fa = {جهانی شدن و شهرهای اسلامی منطقه خاورمیانه}, abstract_fa = {شهرها در طول تاریخ خود از دولت شهرهای یونان باستان تا شهرهای اسلامی و شهرهای قرون وسطی با یکدیگر در ارتباط و همواره منشأ اصلی تحولات جوامع بشری بودهاند. نمونه بازر ارتباطات و تحولات را در شهرهای اسلامی از جمله مکه، بغداد، بصره، اصفهان، قرطبه و قاهره در طول سدههای هشتم تا دهم بعد از میلاد که در فرایندهایی مهم و اغلب جهانی، درگیر بودهاند میتوان مشاهده کرد. منطقه خاورمیانه پس از یک دوره طولانی افول و فترت امروزه عرصه در حال ظهور جهانی شدن است و شهرهای آن به‌شدت در حال ورود به عرصه جهانی شدن  و به‌طور فزایندهای در حال اتصال به شبکه شهرهای جهانی میباشند. آنچه در این تحقیق به‌عنوان هدف دنبال میشود، تبیین دامنه جهانی شدن کلانشهرهای منطقه خاورمیانه و جایگاه این شهرها در شبکه شهرهای جهانی است. این تحقیق با روش توصیفی- تحلیلی انجام شده و یافتههای آن نشان میدهد هرچند که شهرهای اسلامی برای دوره طولانی به‌عنوان بازیگران اصلی در سطح جهانی مطرح بوده‌اند، اما ه‌ عدم توجه به شکلگیری نهادهای مدنی، استعمار و رانتیر بودن اغلب دولتهای منطقه، طی یک دوره بسیار طولانی نتوانستهاند در فرآیند جهانی شدن نقش چشمگیری داشته باشند‏، اما امروزه برخی از این شهرها به مدد موقعیت جغرافیایی و با برخورد صمیمانهای که با سرمایه و اقتصاد جهانی داشتهاند، توانستهاند در شبکه شهرهای جهانی جایگاه مناسبی داشته باشند.       }, keywords_fa = {شهراسلامی,جهانی شدن,خاورمیانه,شهرجهانی}, url = {https://journal.iag.ir/article_55990.html}, eprint = {https://journal.iag.ir/article_55990_e8fd6caeeaece877fa72349cd26c016d.pdf} }
