Abstract

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the end of the cold war, many observed that the institutions and structures of the old order, including the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will be disintegrated. In contrary to the abolishment of The Warsaw Pact, NATO remained and has been reconstructed. The waves of unrest and turbulence in East Europe were an important factor to this event. This paper has used descriptive-analytic method to see the impacts of changing geopolitical arena on NATO.
