Abstract
Geopolitical processes are closely linked to the search for ideological platforms that justify their prospects and effectiveness. Liberalism and socialism, from the very beginning of their emergence, aimed to spread throughout the world. Despite the irreconcilable opposition, they identified a number of common ideological principles. Each of these ideologies considered its political theory to be the only correct one, bringing society closer to the realization of the thousand-year dream of people to create a society of freedom, equality, fraternity and justice.

In their vision of the future of humankind, these two ideologies showed a desire for the widespread introduction of new, radically different from previous, value systems. At the same time, it was implied that their value guidelines are, of course, ideal and are called upon to ensure a happy future for all the people of the planet. This demonstrated their focus on world domination. Along with many positive shifts in global development, these ideologies also led to many negative consequences for the peoples of a number of states.
