The expansion of information and communication technologies has brought international relations into a new arena in which traditional geopolitical borders are broken down and digital borders replace them. research aims to explore how information and communication technologies redefine geopolitical borders and security in the Middle East. It is hypothesized that this redefinition results from a triple linkage: the securitization of the digital realm (Copenhagen School), structural violence in asymmetric access to data and power (Galtung), and symbolic violence in the imposition of dominant meanings and representations (Bourdieu). The operational mechanism of this influence works through the control of data flows, algorithmic surveillance, and platform management, which replace physical borders with digital ones and prioritize individual security over state security. In this process, on one hand, the state, relying on cyber sovereignty and the securitization of data, seeks to reproduce its own borders of influence. On the other hand, the individual, using encryption technologies, social networks, and virtual activism, draws security borders independent of the state. This tension removes the geopolitics of influence from the exclusive domain of states and turns it into a contested arena between state and individual actors, which can lead both to the production of security and to the creation of insecurity. The study adopts a qualitative research approach and employs a descriptive-analytical method, drawing on library and documentary sources. The analysis is grounded in an integrated theoretical framework that brings together the Copenhagen School of securitization, Galtung’s theory of violence, and Bourdieu’s concept of symbolic violence.
